New Windows VM template version Available & Upcoming Template Changes

We have some exciting updates to share about the operating system templates you can use on mydre.org!

What’s New?

We’ve added Windows Server 2022 to the list of templates available for your workspace. This newer version offers better performance and support, helping you stay up to date. Read more on Adding VMs here.
Notes
The templates provided include only the essential setup of the operating system. Any additional software installations are your responsibility. 
Your local Research Support team can help if you have questions.

What’s Changing?

On May 31, 2025, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS will reach the end of its standard support period. After this date, Canonical will no longer provide free security updates, bug fixes, or maintenance for this version. Read more.
