In the past months, we have worked hard on rewriting the current data transfer flow. The work that has been done will help to resolve several bugs reported by users around data transfer and download. The work is ready to be rolled to production, however, we will have to remove all currently active data transfer and download requests. This will be one-time action that we will perform in week 45. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you are not able to find your data request, please submit a new request. 

Data transfers redirected

As part of the large rewrite, the data transfers will in the future be directed to the inbox share instead of data/inbox share. More on this can be found in next weeks release notes. 

Invitation to participate in the Community section

support.mydre.org has also a Community section. As we all work with myDRE, you might run into for instance how-to questions. Or, you might find a solution in an application that was bugging you for some time and you found a way.

I like to work with Jupyterlab and Python. Especially the combination of scripts and Excel files. I found it really annoying the many steps I had to take to open the Excel file when working in Jupyterlab. Of course, everything has a solution, and after several attempts on Google I found one that works for me. Change the time zone in a VM - possible, but think thrice

We are accustomed that our PCs run in our current time zone. VMs do not simply because they do not locally, but run in a Microsoft Azure Data Center. It is common practice to use UTC-time for cloud resources, this includes VMs. Of course if you really want it, it is cosmetically possible to change the time zone in a vm, read more in: Change the timezone in a VM.

Virus scanning

All Windows VMs have Windows Defender enabled. On access the threat will be assessed and in case the file is compromised, the user will be warned and the file will be deleted. Read a bit more including example on Virus Scanning.

Sign-in and Audit Logs

By default 30 day rolling sign-in and audit logs are created in order to trouble shoot, provide evidence, improve the quality of myDRE. Read a bit more including an example on Sign-in and Audit Logs.
