New features have been implemented after the migration from researchenvironment.org to mydre.org. Therefore, it is nice to have an overview of these new features. Moreover, this page will be updated as more new features arrive.
- Self-service Virtual Machine (VM) creation.
- Self-service VM renaming. Give your VM a (more) suitable name instead of dwsxxxYYYserver1. Learn how to do this in Changing VM names.
- Self-service VM copying. Did you install software on a VM and do you need a second VM with the same software. You don't have to install it again, generalize the VM and copy it. Be aware: generalizing the VM will make it inaccessible! Learn how to do this in Create VM Templates for your Workspace.
- Self-service adding members to workspaces, member removal and role change. Learn how to do this in Self-service adding members, remove members and change role.
- Self-service autoshutdown rules: you can now extend or remove the autoshutdown of VMs. By default the shutdown of a VM is at 19:00 (Amsterdam time). You can even set it on different timezones. Learn how to do this in Adjusting the auto-shutdown.
- Mobile access to your workspace. Connect to your workspace with your mobile phone through the Microsoft Azure app. Turn on the VM while you're on the way so you can immediately connect when you're at your workstation. Learn how to do this in Managing VM via smartphone.
- Set a budget for your workspace and receive alerts at different percentages. Learn how to do this in Setting Budgets.
