[RESOLVED] VM Deletion and Workspace Creation Failures

We are currently experiencing issues with Virtual Machine deletion and workspace creation operations. Our team has identified the problem and is actively working on a resolution.

Idea
Issue has been resolved. 

What Happened?

We've identified that VM deletion operations are currently failing on the platform. This is related to the Azure Active Directory Graph API that underlies some of the myDRE functions.

Impact

  1. Users are unable to delete Virtual Machines.
  2. Research Support is not able to create, delete or archive workspaces.
Other platform operations are functioning normally.

Workaround (before resolution)

If you need to delete a VM or create an image, please submit a support ticket to myDRE. The anDREa support team will assist you with these operations while we work on a permanent solution.

Current Status

The issue has been resolved. All myDRE functionalities should be working as expected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused to your workflow.

- The fix for both workspace creation and VM deletion issue has been verified on Acceptance environment and will soon be deployed to production. Once deployment is complete, we will notify you here.

- Workspace creation fix has been deployed to Acceptance environment for further testing.

- Workspace creation fix has been deployed to test environment for testing.

- Impact has been scaled to Medium. 
- The initial investigation issue seemed in some cases to have an impact on VM creation as well. We have ruled out this not to be a problem any longer.
- We have further confirmed that also the Upload data API should be working as expected.
- VM generalisation works, image is being created, but VM is shown as Generalized (you can submit a ticket to myDRE support for VM deletion until problem has been fixed): 

- We have prioritized fix for workspace creation first, since no workaround is possible.
