This feature is not standard, which means we operate on best effort basis.
Each workspace has their own storage. What if there are multiple workspaces that each need access to the same set of files? Then a shared storage may be interesting feature for you. In DRE, we can set up storage that is accessible from VMs in multiple workspaces. By setting up such shared storage, you don't need to copy files often, which saves on storage costs.
Warning! Shared storage is not the same as workspace storage:
- There are no back-ups or snapshots.
- There is no audit trail of ingress/egress.
- Files are only accessible via VMs, not via the portal. You cannot download the data from the web portal, unless moved to workspace storage.
How to request Shared storage
Shared storage is a best-effort feature, for which we cannot currently gaurantee anything.
In the ticket, specify which workspaces should have access to the storage.
Afterwards, a Support Team member will get in touch and set up the Shared storage on best-effort basis.
Once the Shared storage is created, follow the steps provided by them to access the storage.
