Dear users,

We're excited to announce the upcoming release of the new myDRE Update Center feature next month. The Update Center will empower Accountable and/or Privileged members to assess which of their virtual machines (VMs) needs to install updates, ensuring optimal performance and security.

To enable this feature, the Azure Monitoring Agent (AMA) must be deployed on all VMs. AMA is a tool on the VMs that collects monitoring data from Azure and VMs, providing valuable insights within Azure Monitor. This data in turn is used for the Update Center feature coming up. In this, you as the Workspace Accountable or Privileged member, will be able to self-service manage the (security) updates of your VMs.

This update requires no action on your part, as AMA will be installed automatically when your VMs are started and running. It does not affect any running processes on the VM. VMs that are already running will be excluded from the AMA update, these VMs will be updated later. However, if there are any VMs that should not undergo this update, please contact your local Research Support by Friday, April 26th, at 17:00.

We're committed to providing you with a smooth and secure experience on our platform, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

Please note that anDREa will not actively start any virtual machines, AMA will be installed once the user starts the virtual machine.

Best,
anDREa team
